TC site in the 1920s
John Warner lent us this large negative (copied by sticking it to a window and photographing it) of the site that would eventually become Television Centre. It was taken, we believe, in the 1920s, between fifteen and twenty five years after the Franco British Exhibition and the Games of the 4th Olympiad in 1908. Wood Lane and the railway bridge give you a point of reference as does White City Stadium in the top right hand corner. Uxbridge Road Entrance
The Wood Lane Entrance (right), visible in the aerial shot where the railway line crosses Wood Lane, was a splendid affair, but not quite as impressive as the entrance on Uxbridge Road (left)
