In the 21st Century email has become the de facto standard for communication, but, for most of the development of videotape the standard BBC memo was the way to pass information around the department. Memo writing was a skilled art - much could be said without actually putting it down in words! The actual events that caused memos to be generated are the most fascinating part and it is fitting that the first section concerns heads.

Head Wear Heads Department		In the 1960s video head wear was a serious problem, especially with the brand new VR2000s and the Mark IV heads.
